 When creating a new data set, as opposed to loading an existing TFT file,
 the length of file names can be recorded as zero in the TFT file. This is
 not a problem for the server code which reads the filenames anyway, but
 when it writes the name back to the new tft file it truncates these to
 zero. This makes the load initial and final TFT buttons on the GUI fail.
